Prague Castle
Prague Castle is a walled complex above the Vltava containing St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica and Golden Lane. Founded in the ninth century, it is the seat of the President of the Czech Republic.
Also known as Prazsky hrad.

Why it matters
It is a district rather than a building: courtyards, a cathedral, a monastery and a street of houses inside one wall, assembled over eleven centuries and still in government use.
Editorial context written by Global City Intelligence, not a statement from the venue.
Good for
- Architecture & design — Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Plecnik's twentieth-century interventions are all present within one enclosure.
- Outdoor day — The courtyards and ramparts are freely accessible; only the interiors are ticketed.
These are editorial judgements, not verified facts.

Not verified: opening hours, admission prices and access rules. These change frequently and we have not checked them, so this page does not state them. Check the official website before travelling.
The coordinate is a site centroid for a walled complex roughly 570 m long, and the recorded precision reflects that. Individual buildings inside the castle are separate entities and are not covered by this record.
