The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is an encyclopedic art museum on Fifth Avenue at the eastern edge of Central Park in Manhattan. It was founded in 1870 and its main building has been extended repeatedly since opening on the site in 1880.
