Mercat de Sant Antoni
Mercat de Sant Antoni is a municipal market in Barcelona's Eixample district, housed in an iron and brick hall of 1882 by Antoni Rovira i Trias. It reopened in 2018 after a long restoration and continues to trade as a food market with a separate second-hand book and periodical market.

Why it matters
The hall is a cross set diagonally across a full Cerda block, so its four arms meet the grid at the corners. The restoration exposed Roman and medieval remains found beneath the floor, which are now visible on site.
